Hildegunn was selected as winner in the 2008 Downbeat Awards in the category "Best Arrangement" for her adaptation of the small group arrangement of Irving Berlin's "What'll I Do". The piece was recorded by the UNT Jazz Singers on the album "In Case You Missed It", released 2008.

02.05.08 | European Tour with the One o'clock Lab Band
Hildegunn is honored to be asked to travel to Europe with the Grammy award winning big band UNT One o'clock Lab Band. The band will perform at festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Northsee Festival in Holland to name a few. Please see www.music.unt.edu/jazz for more information.

The release Party of the Hildegunn Gjedrem Group new CD "The End of the Beginning". The amazing Forjak is starting the night off at 10 PM, so don't miss it!

06.13.07 | The Hildegunn Gjedrem Group has been accepted to play at the 2008 IAJE Conference!
The HG Group was selected among hundreds to perform a concert at the 2008 IAJE Conference in Toronto, Canada! The conference takes place from Jan 9-12. The exact performance time will be selected later.

Hildegunn is ecstatic about this opportunity to showcase her new CD at the worlds largest Jazz Festival!

05.14.07 | The Hildegunn Gjedrem Group to join SITMOM records!
The Hildegunn Gjedrem Group are being signed to SITMOM Records! The roster includes such great bands as Snarky Puppy, Oso Closo and Forjak. Hildegunn is very pleased to be associated with these great bands and their wonderful music.

Check out www.sitmom.com, and keep your eyes and ears open for Hildegunn's first release in Sitmom "the End of The Beginning" due to be released in early fall of 2007.

05.06.07 | Hildegunn Faculty at the North Texas Vocal Workshop
In June Hildegunn will join Michele Weir, Jennifer Barnes, Rosana Eckert and Paris Rutherford for her 2nd year as faculty for the Vocal Summer Workshop at the University of North Texas. Please see www.music.unt.edu/jazz for details on how to sign up for the workshop.

In May Hildegunn and her band will track her first album, set to be released in the fall of 2007.

04.28.07 | 3rd Annual Art 6 Festival Performance
the Hildegunn Gjedrem Band will perform May 4th at the Art 6 Festival in Denton at 6.30. Art 6 is on Scripture Street in Denton. They will take the stage after John Murphy's Combo- this group is highly recommended as well!
